ABC WAYZGOOSE 2015

It’s time to mark your calendar again!
Wayzgoose = Christmas, Friendship, Lunch.

But food shouldn’t be the only reason you go to Wayzgoose. It’s really nice to get together with people from all three groups, the Printers, Calligraphers and Bookbinders and talk about new projects and things achieved during the year. Meet other creative people and let us meet you!
Maybe you’re in Auckland that weekend! We’d love to meet members from other chapters.
Outwit your friends in the QUIZ!
Check out the usual table of things for free or for sale.
Win a raffle!
Sign the visitor’s book.
Bring a friend if you want to.
Have a great time!
Enter your book/s in the competition.
Come to the Horticultural Centre, 990 Great North Road, (just opposite Motions Rd).
Sunday, 22 November, 2015 Time: 11am – 3.30pm
There’s parking for 40 cars onsite. (There may be parking at the restaurant next door (eastern side) also.)
Please bring a ‘plate’. The ABC will provide Punch and some wine, but BYO if you want to.
We also ask for a $5 contribution to the event.
*Start preparing now for the competition.
For the event we will again have a competition to make a small children’s book, maximum size A6
which will be judged on the day. You may enter more than one.
It is your decision what you put in it, eg blank, printed, pop-up, drawn, origami etc .
It must be suitable for a child.
Use the different skills you have as Bookbinders, Printers, Calligraphers, and Artists.

After the Wayzgoose and with your permission, the books will again be donated to the children in Starship Hospital.

OVERVIEW of the BOTANNICAL ILLUSTRATION WITH VINCENT JEANNEROT

Overall it was a great weekend and the group are now budding botanical illustrators. Here are some pictures from the workshop.

ENIGMA - A solo show by Kate Hursthouse

One of our members Kate Hursthouse is having her first solo show!

Kate is known for her calligraphic and typographic illustration based artworks where letters and language form the foundation of each work. Kate merges traditional and contemporary techniques to create bold artworks that challenge the way we perceive language.
